What is AI inpainting?+

AI inpainting edits only the part of a photo you paint over. The model uses the surrounding pixels and your description to rebuild that selected area.

Can I remove an object without writing a prompt?+

Yes. Leave the description empty and InpaintingAI uses Remove & Fill mode to blend the selected area into its surroundings.

Which image formats are supported?+

You can upload JPG, PNG, and WebP images. Large photos are compressed in your browser before processing.

Are my uploaded photos mine?+

Yes. You keep ownership of your uploaded photos and generated results. We do not claim ownership of user-uploaded images.

Does it work on mobile?+

Yes. The editor stacks vertically on smaller screens, supports pinch zoom and pan, and keeps the precision brush fixed at 10 pixels.

Do I need an account, and what do free users receive?+

Yes. AI generation requires a registered account. Each new account receives 5 credits once after registration.

Which AI model edits my image?+

InpaintingAI uses deterministic auto routing to select a suitable fal.ai endpoint for each separate mark. Precise removal and repair normally use FLUX.1 Fill Pro; semantic replacement or style edits may use Nano Banana 2; text and complex composition edits may use GPT Image 1.5. Availability and routing rules can change as models are evaluated and updated.

How are credits calculated?+

One credit equals one billed output megapixel for the model selected by auto routing. Each separate output is rounded up to the next whole megapixel, so a 1.2 MP output uses 2 credits.

Can I mark several edits at once?+

You can add up to three marks. They are not merged: InpaintingAI sends them to the model sequentially as separate calls, and each call uses credits based on its output size.

When do subscription credits expire?+

Monthly plans issue 80 credits for each subscription billing period, and unused credits expire at that period's end. Annual plans issue 960 credits upfront for the annual period.

What happens if I cancel or request a refund?+

Stopping renewal takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Within 14 days of successful payment, an eligible immediate partial refund uses the lower of the unused-time and remaining-paid-credit ratios. Legal rights that cannot be limited still apply.

Are credits returned when a generation fails or is canceled?+

Credits are released only when we can confirm no billable provider output was produced. If the fal.ai request already incurred actual cost, the credits are not returned. Requests with an unknown provider status stay reserved until reconciled.

Which images are saved in my account?+

Only the latest original image, combined mask preview, and final result are retained in private storage. Generation metadata remains in your account history, while intermediate masks and results are temporary.
